Био не особо свежее, но тем не менее:
There is no way to overlook M.I.A. no matter how foggy or crowded the club
All eyes are focused on her slender figure.
Her energetic and eclectic sets are sudatory and soulful at the same time and have managed to burn down any slick dancefloor - turning the in-crowd into a disoriented and euphoric body screaming for more.
M.I.A.´s way has led her through europe´s best clubs with berlin´s finest WMF as her homebase, she also hosts an irregular clubnight at Westpol, cologne.
Together with her partner in crime – FALKO BROCKSIEPER she founded their own label substatic back in 1999 to have an output for their own releases and to feature stuff they liked.
The label soon became an internationally recognized output for bringing out new talents like MATTHEW JOHNSON , PAN/TONE, BRIAN ANEURYSM and REPAIR.
At the same time it worked as M.I.A.´s own playground where she could playfully release her monsterfunk – bootyacid tracks embracing the 4 to the floor with a grin.
Her producer output has bent puristic techno of early rave enthusiasm into a house matrix without handbags or whistles. Jagged emotions meet fine-ground motorics.
The climax of her releases has for sure been her debut album – SCHWARZWEISS , which got her gigs all over Europe and dj namedropping charts she never even thought about.
At the beginning there´s not only the machine but also intuitive emotion, packed into her unique voice, sometimes screaming, sometimes whispering but always pumping straight - driven by her heart of gold which specialty is appreciated by other quality music labels as
TRAUM, TRAPEZ, ITALIC, POPULAR.ORG, or DUMB UNIT.
